Famous for his unrivaled work ethic and coaching expertise, Coach Doug has created the NO OPPONENT Virtual Basketball Academy (NOVBA), a program that allows him to follow, train, and regularly evaluate his students virtually using his honed techniques and perfected methods for player development. “NO OPPONENT” is Coach Doug’s basketball philosophy—a uniquely crafted hybrid of basketball and mental martial arts he uses to train players to have longevity in the sport.
Given the current social distancing restrictions for COVID-19, let's focus on the key elements of the game that will help you make an instant impact once you're back on the court.
JOIN THE NO OPPONENT VIRTUAL BASKETBALL ACADEMY IN 5 EASY STEPS!
Step 1.
Identify quality game film you’d like for Coach Doug and his expert NO OPPONENT Coaches to review. Do not send “Highlight Videos” or “Player Reels.” Video must be sent in the form of a DropBox or YouTube link and shouldn’t exceed a half game of film. No exceptions. (Please submit videos that are clear and visible. Poor quality videos will be discarded. Film of “highlights” will also be discarded).
Step 2.
Complete the online NO OPPONENT Virtual Basketball Academy (NOVBA) participation form at dougovertonbasketball.com. (If you are a High School Athlete, parental consent will be required.)
Step 3.
A member of the NOVBA Coaching Staff will contact you via email to confirm receipt of your complete submission. Upon receiving that email, payment is due within 48 hours. (A payment link will be provided in the confirmation email). If payment is not received within 48 hours of receiving the email, you will forfeit the evaluation.
Step 4.
Choose one of the No Opponent Virtual Basketball Academy Package below.
Step 5.
Please allow up to 10 business days for Coach Doug & the NOVBA Coaching Staff to extensively evaluate your game film.
Step 6.
After your evaluation, you will be sent directions on how you can optimize your participation with Coach Doug & the NO OPPONENT Virtual Basketball Academy.
Virtual Packages
You get a NOVBA Personalized Player Assessment (PPA). This is sent via email in a PDF File and contains a comprehensive expert evaluation of your game, both offensively and defensively, as well as an overall rating of your skillset, based on your submitted game film.

You get a 30-minute 1 on 1 Virtual Interface with Coach Doug This is an opportunity to talk one-on-one with Coach Doug and receive a complete virtual analysis of your submitted game film. (Two date/time options will be provided via email for the Zoom call to take place.)
